Chamber choir «Moskovskie Pevtchie» – creative collective, founded in 2000 in Moscow. Winner of international awards (Second prize of the XII International competition of choral collectives «Singing world» (2016., Saint-Petersburg, Russia), First prize at the XIV International festival-competition «Moscow-city of peace» (2015, Moscow), the Silver diploma in the VIII World choir games (2014, Riga), winner of many festivals in Russia and abroad.
Members of our choir are students and graduates of music colleges and universities, and also, people without special musical education but with a good voice and hearing.
The main thing that unites us together is the love for good classical, academic music, a desire to sing and a desire for self-expression through choral singing and music.
There are many different musical compositions in our repertoire: Russian and European classics, sacred music, folksongs, choral compositions of modern composers, including works of Bortnyansky, Glinka, Tchaikovsky, Rakhmaninov, Kastalsky, Rimsky-Korsakov, Schubert, Shoman, Brams, Sviridov, Podgayts, Belyaev, Bronner, Kiselev, Dunaevsky, Soloviev-Sedoy, etc.
Our choir successfully performs the works of large forms, Taneyev’s cantata «John of Damascus», P.Tchaikovsky’s cantata «Moscow»and «Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom».
Our collective is successfully performing in Moscow at the best venues: in the hall of the Academy of music named by Gnesiny’s, Museum of musical culture named by Glinka, the Institute of Geology named by Vernadsky,on the Red Square in the composition of the combined choir, at ENEA.
The choir takes an active part in international competitions and festivals abroad (Prague, Paris, Franconville (France), Białystok (Poland), Porec (Croatia), Riga (Latvia) and in Russia (Yaroslavl, Mozhaysk, Gagarin, Zhukovsky,Vologda, St. Petersburg), etc.
The permanent artistic Director and conductor is Ilya Myakishev, he graduated from the Moscow Conservatoire named by Tchaikovsky (class of Professor B. G. Tevlin). In 1993-1998 he was a conductor-choirmaster of State Choir of Russia named by A.Yourlov. Now he is main choirmaster of Moscow State Academic Choir and the lecturer of Academical Musical College of Moscow Conservatory, also he is a gifted teacher and writer. Ilya Myakishev is an editor and compiler of books «Moscow State Academic Choir (1956-2000)» and «Vladimir Sokolov: essays, interviews, memoirs». He also is an author of various publications and articles on problems of history and present choral art.
