On the Day of Slavic Writing and Culture (the Day of Saints Cyril and Methodius), the Moscow Singers Chamber Choir closed its 25th concert season. The choir presented the program «Our Motherland Russia,» which included works by Russian composers of the 19th and 20th centuries and Russian folk songs. The conductor was Ilya Myakishev.
The concert featured rarely performed works by D. Lvov-Kompaniets and E. Dreizin, the Kapellmeister of the Military Band, music by P.I. Tchaikovsky for a women’s choir, as well as pieces by New Direction composers A. Grechaninov, V. Kalinnikov, and P. Chesnokov based on poems by Russian poets. The concert was also featuring a modern perspective on choral art by renowned composers E. Podgaits and M. Bronner.
Olga Dmitrieva (piano) and Polina Kubyshkina (soprano) took part in the concert held at the historical estate of the Prozorovskys- Beketovs.
