The chamber choir “Moskovskie Pevchie”has been for more than twenty years.

Back in 2000, several amateurs  of choral music united with the permanent leader of the choir – Ilya Yuryevich Myakishev. Due to his unfailing enthusiasm, professionalism and diligence “Moskovskiye Pevchie” turned from a small ensemble of music amateurs who used to sing in one-two voices into no-nonsense choir that is not afraid of taking of the most sophisticated polyphonic works of the most famous composers performing them at the best concert venues in the country like the Great Hall of the Moscow Conservatory or the Choir Chapel in St. Petersburg, participating in major international choral competitions.

Ilya Yuryevich graduated from the Moscow Conservatory and now is a chief choirmaster of the State Academic Moscow (regional) choir named by A.D. Kozhevnikov.

The repertoire of the choir is quite diverse and consists of  the music works of Russian and foreign classics: Pyotr Tchaikovsky, Sergey Rachmaninov, Dmitry Bortnyansky, Nikolay Rimsky-Korsakov, Johann Sebastian Bach. “Moskovskie Pevchie” also performs the compositions  of  contemporary composers: Vladimir Belyaev, Alexey Larin, Anatoly Kiselev, Efrem Podgayts and many others.

The choral music of Pyotr Tchaikovsky is a hallmark of the choir and there many of his works are performed, but the “The Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom” and “The Children’s Album for Mixed Choirs” are especially popular with the audience.

Every year we give several solo performances in Moscow and the Moscow region. The Grand and Rachmaninov Halls of the Moscow State Conservatory named after P.I. Tchaikovsky, the Academy of Choral Art named after V.S. Popov, the Church of the Holy Martyr Tatiana at Moscow State University named after M.V. Lomonosov, The Museum and Nature Reserve Tsaritsyno, The Russian National Music Museum named of M.I. Glinka,  the Central Museum of Ancient Russian Culture and Art of Andrei Rublev this is not a complete list of venues where “Moskovskiye Pevchie” can be heard.

The choir successfully participates in Russian and international choral competitions. In 2019  Moskovskiye Pevchie won the Grand Prix at the VII International JFest Choral Competition in Turku, Finland.

In 2018 choir was awarded the Golden Diploma and first place in the Sacred Music nomination at the All-Russian Competition “The Choral Veliky Novgorod”.

We had the honor to perform at the State Academic Chapel, the Kazan Cathedral and Lutheran cathedrals in Saint Petersburg.

Also Moskovskiye Pevchie was lucky to sing in foreing countries like Poland and Croatia, France and the Czech Republic and other Russian towns like Yaroslavl and Vologda, Klin and Podolsk and this is not the whole list.

Now “Moskovskiye Pevchie” unites devoted enthusiasts of choral art, people with musical ear and voice and passion to professional academic singing. In the difficult conditions of the last two years, we are continuing to perform and invite the new members to join us.
